NatMedics´ products - natural plant extracts - are based on patented research results by scientists from the University of Rostock, the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, the Clinic of Karlsburg (all three Germany) as well as the University of Tartu (Estonia). The extracts contain specific polyphenol compounds, in particular procyanidin A3 isomers. Natmedics has also invented methods for producing these extracts from plant parts, in particular fruits, leaves and stems or sprouts. The plants are types of vaccinium or rhododendron, chestnut etc. The extracts produced can be taken orally and administer inhibitors for amylopsin and pancreatic lipase. Thereby, the digestibility of carbohydrates and neutral fats in nutrition can be interrupted and thus the absorbability can be prevented. 

 

NatMedics will offer different products to the European and American market: food supplements, dietary ingredients, dietary drinks (e.g. tea or soft drinks), pharmaceuticals etc. The first “product in the market” will be available in 2010.
